1,500 CBU Vehicles Import Authorized for Red Crescent

A Cabinet resolution implementing the 1404 Budget Law authorizes the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran to import, clear, and register 1,500 complete-chassis (CBU) emergency and relief vehicles, including 400 Toyota Land Cruiser ambulances, exempt from import duty subject to domestic equipping and standards approval.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a resolution authorizing the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran to import, clear, and register 1,500 complete-chassis (CBU) vehicles for emergency and relief operations, implementing clause (l) of Note 1 of the Single Article General Budget Law for 1404.

The resolution (No. 94021/T64121H, dated September 8, 2025) specifies the following breakdown of the 1,500 vehicles:

  • 400 complete-chassis (CBU) Toyota Land Cruiser units, four-wheel-drive, with a 4,000cc engine, for use as ambulances
  • 1,000 complete-chassis (CBU) Toyota Hilux units, four-wheel-drive, with 2,700cc and 4,000cc engines, for relief and rescue operations
  • 50 complete-chassis (CBU) Toyota Hiace van units, for operational transfer of relief personnel
  • 50 complete-chassis (CBU) vehicles for the command of relief and rescue operations by the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Import, clearance, and registration of these vehicles are exempt from vehicle import technical regulations and from payment of import duty, conditional on domestic equipping being carried out by qualified companies approved by the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, and on obtaining standards certification for equipment for the 400 ambulance units in accordance with Type A and Type B specifications.

The Export and Import Regulations Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran forwarded the Cabinet resolution to Iran Customs for information and implementation.
