Amendments to Border Resident Import Item List

Iran's Trade Promotion Organization has issued amendments to the list of items and per-person quantity limits permitted for import by border residents and their cooperative companies, including new quotas for fruit and revised terms for legumes.

Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization has notified the Director General of the Import Office of Iran Customs of amendments to the list of items permitted for import by border residents and their cooperative companies, following up on earlier correspondence (No. 4830932 of March 16, 2025) and decisions taken at a meeting of the Article 12 working group held on January 31, 2026.

Under the revised list, the permitted per-person quantities and applicable tariff codes are as follows: mango and banana, 15 kilograms per person under tariff codes 08013010, 08034300, 08011900, 08011200, 08039010; coconut and pineapple, 10 kilograms per person under tariff codes 08011090, 07132090, 07132010, 07133290, 07133290, 07133100, 07139000, 07133220; legumes of all kinds, 30 kilograms per person; and sesame, 20 kilograms per person under tariff code 12074090.

The notice also clarifies that mangosteen and passion fruit have been removed from the list of items permitted for import by border residents, and that the category and quantity for other legumes, apart from beans, remain unchanged. Iran Customs was asked to instruct relevant executive customs offices to apply the revised list accordingly, and the Center for Innovation and Smart Systems and Security was asked to update the items in the Comprehensive Trade System.
