Standards for Imported Buses and Road Tractors

The National Standards Organization's approval criteria for imported buses and road tractors under the executive bylaw of clause (p), Article 59 of the Seventh Five-Year Development Plan Law will now be checked at entry border points rather than requiring a separate permit at order registration.

Under the executive bylaw of clause (p), Article 59 of the Law on the Seventh Five-Year Development Plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the criteria that the National Standards Organization will apply to imported buses and road tractors have been announced. These criteria will be reviewed and applied at the entry border points rather than during order registration.

An imported vehicle will meet the approved standard if it satisfies at least one of the following: its specifications appear on the list of vehicles with type-approval validation; it carries Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) marked on its identification plate; it holds a manufacturer’s Certificate of Conformity (COC) confirming compliance with the European CE mark; it holds a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) from the Gulf Standardization Organization (GSO); it holds China Compulsory Certification (CCC); it holds Eurasian Conformity (EAC) certification; or it meets other country-of-origin standards approved by Iran’s National Standards Organization.

Going forward, the order registration process for imported buses and road tractors covered by this bylaw will no longer require a separate permit from the National Standards Organization. Instead, the standards review will be carried out as part of the customs clearance process at the entry border points, based on the criteria listed above.
