Authorized Brands List for Vehicle Imports Under Article 11

Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization has forwarded to the head of the Center for Innovation and Smart Systems and Security a list of vehicle brands authorized to have after-sales service for used-vehicle imports under Article 11 of the Automotive Industry Reorganization Law, for entry and application in the Comprehensive Trade System.

The list follows an earlier meeting minutes document communicated by letter No. 6646021 of May 26, 2026, concerning the mechanism for order registration of vehicle imports under Article 11, based on Cabinet Resolution No. 66538/T61687H of July 15, 2025. That resolution required control of the ceiling on the number of vehicles permitted for import under this route, prompting the Ministry’s Vehicle Industries, Motive Power, and Transportation Office to advise that, given the current status of the ceiling, opening further order registration under this route was not considered advisable at that time, pending communication of a legally applicable ceiling for further action.

The Ministry’s Logistics and Commercial Services Office subsequently compiled and submitted, by letter No. 7189119 of February 18, 2026, the list of authorized brands of used vehicles with after-sales service falling within the authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referencing Clause 4 of the earlier resolutions and covering brands of gasoline, hybrid, and electric vehicles. This list has now been forwarded together with related correspondence for entry into the Comprehensive Trade System, so that order registration and customs clearance of used vehicles imported under Article 11 can be processed only for vehicles of the listed authorized brands with confirmed after-sales service.

Importers seeking to register used-vehicle import orders under Article 11 of the Automotive Industry Reorganization Law should verify that the vehicle brand in question appears on the authorized brands list before proceeding, since after-sales service confirmation for brands already on the list is issued automatically within the system, while brands not on the list require a separate confirmation from the Ministry’s Logistics and Commercial Services Office.
