The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has announced the list of vehicle brands authorized for import registration by Iranians residing abroad and has removed the previous requirement that imported vehicles be backed by an authorized after-sales service agency and product identification code in Iran.

The scheme operates under the executive bylaw implementing clause (r) of Note 1 of the Single Article General Budget Law for the current year (Cabinet Resolution No. 507370/T63881H, dated June 11, 2025), which allows Iranians residing abroad who meet the plan’s conditions to register an import order for a vehicle. The Ministry’s Automotive Industries Office, in follow-up to earlier correspondence, forwarded a spreadsheet listing the models and brands eligible for import registration under this scheme to the Export and Import Regulations Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, which in turn instructed Iran Customs to apply system verification confirmations and remove the after-sales service and product identification requirement previously in place, and to make the necessary information available to applicants via the Comprehensive Trade System.

The list of authorized brands supplied by the Automotive Industries Office includes: AUDI, BMW, BYD, Changan, Dacia, Fiat, Geely, HAVAL, Honda, Hyundai, KIA, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MG, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Renault, SEAT, Skoda, SsangYong, Suzuki, Tank, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo, along with a range of specific models under each brand as detailed in the attached technical spreadsheets.

Importers applying under this scheme should note that, as of this notice, an authorized after-sales service representative and product identification code in Iran are no longer required conditions for import registration, and that the current list of authorized brands and models is available through the Comprehensive Trade System for applicant reference.
