Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has approved the export of barley groats as conditionally permitted, instructing the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration to implement the decision at customs offices nationwide.

The approval follows correspondence from the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad regarding the export of barley groats, which the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade’s Import and Export Regulations Office forwarded and confirmed. It builds on an earlier notice concerning export prohibitions covering tariff chapters 1 through 24 of the customs tariff book.

Under the decision, the export of “barley groats,” classified under tariff code 11040900, is permitted subject to compliance with other applicable regulations and standards governing the product. Customs authorities have been instructed to record the decision and communicate it to executive customs offices for implementation.

Exporters of barley groats should ensure their shipments meet all other relevant regulatory requirements, since the conditional permission does not exempt the goods from separately applicable rules and standards.
