The changes apply to the annual per-person quantities of several goods on the list of items eligible for entry by border residents and their cooperatives. The revised limits were transmitted to executive customs offices for implementation and are also being communicated to the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives and to trade counselors in neighboring countries.
Under the revision, the annual per-person limit for rice increases from 50 kilograms to 100 kilograms. The limit for various types of seeds increases from 3 kilograms to 7 kilograms per person per year. Walnuts, with or without shell, are set at 15 kilograms per person per year. Vegetable oil increases from 10 kilograms to 30 kilograms per person per year, and hazelnuts increase from 1 kilogram to 5 kilograms per person per year. Granulated sugar increases from 15 kilograms to 30 kilograms per person per year, and tree almonds, with or without shell, are set at 15 kilograms per person per year. Vanilla is added to the system at 1 kilogram per person, and flax seed increases from 3 kilograms to 50 kilograms per person per year.
In addition to these weight-based items, the revision addresses two further categories without stated quantity limits: generator engines up to 400 kV, where the capacity restriction has been revised to remove the previous limitation, and sawn wood under tariff code 4407, which is also permitted without a quantity restriction.
