Tariff Codes Updated for Border Residents' Import List

Iran's Trade Development Organization has notified Iran Customs of amendments to certain tariff codes on the list of items permitted for import by border residents and their cooperative companies, replacing codes for banana, tea, and wheel gears to reflect revisions in the current year's import/export regulations tables.

Iran’s Trade Development Organization, through its Office of Export and Import Regulations, has notified the Director General of Iran Customs’s Import Office of amendments to the tariff codes on the list of items permitted for import by border residents and their cooperative companies. The notice follows earlier correspondence (No. 4830932 dated 1403/12/25) communicating the original list.

Based on amendments to the tariff tables in the current year’s import/export regulations book, several tariff codes on the list have changed, as reflected in the table communicated to Customs. For banana, the code 08039000 is replaced by codes 08039010 and 08039090. For tea, the code 09024000 is replaced by codes 09024010 and 09024090. For wheel gears, the code 84839010 is replaced by codes 84839001 and 84839009.

The Trade Development Organization instructed that the changes be communicated to relevant executive customs houses for any necessary action and awareness, and that the items be entered into the Comprehensive Trade System accordingly. Copies of the notice were sent to the Deputy Minister and Head of the Trade Development Organization, the Presidential Legal Deputy for codification, revision and publication of laws and regulations (for publication in the business-environment laws and regulations database per Article 30 of the Law on the Continuous Improvement of the Business Environment), the Deputy for Planning and Regulations, the Center for Innovation and Smart-Enablement and Security (for entry of the items into the Comprehensive Trade System and the Border Trade System), and relevant provincial industry, mine and trade directors general.
