Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization has communicated the implementation of resolutions adopted at the seventh session of the working group established under Article 4 of the Law on Organizing and Overseeing Border Trade (kolbari and malvani porterage) and Creating Sustainable Employment for Border Residents. The session was held on May 14, 2025, chaired by Mr. Dehghan Dehnavi, with attendance following the list of invitees appended to the minutes.
Among the resolutions communicated for implementation, the working group directed that no restriction apply in the area of trademarks and country of origin for goods imported under the malvani (boat-based border trade) procedure, with the exception of goods originating from the Zionist regime, and instructed that the necessary changes be made in the Comprehensive Trade System to reflect this.
The notice was issued by the Center for Innovation, Smartification, and Security on behalf of the working group and forwarded to the Export and Import Regulations Office for awareness and action, with a copy retained for the working group secretariat’s records.
Traders and border residents engaged in kolbari and malvani porterage trade should be aware that trademark and origin requirements for malvani-procedure imports have been eased, other than for goods of Zionist-regime origin, and should monitor the Comprehensive Trade System for the corresponding system changes.
