Edible Egg Exports Approved as Conditionally Authorized

Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization has notified the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration that the export of edible eggs has been approved as a conditionally authorized item, following a request from the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad’s Deputy for Trade Development.

The approval concerns edible eggs under tariff code 04072110, which had previously fallen under the list of export prohibitions covering tariff chapters 1 through 24. The Ministry of Agricultural Jihad’s Deputy for Trade Development had requested that exports of edible eggs be permitted up to a weekly ceiling. Because the Comprehensive Trade System and the customs EPL system could not systemically enforce a quantity ceiling for this item, the item was instead approved for export as a conditionally authorized good, with verification handled through the systemic confirmation of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad’s Trade Development Deputy’s designated representative in Iran Customs’ EPL system.

Under the arrangement, export clearance for the relevant tariff code requires systemic confirmation by the ministry’s designated representative, identified in the correspondence as Mehdi Safarpour, through the EPL system before shipments can proceed. The Trade Promotion Organization instructed that the matter be communicated to executive customs offices as quickly as possible for implementation, with the outcome reported back to the organization.
