Crude Oil Tariff Codes Announced Under Currency Committee Resolution

The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has announced the customs tariff codes for crude oil products covered under clause 1 of the Currency Committee’s meeting minutes, enabling import registration for these goods to proceed using foreign currency generated from exports.

The notice was issued by the Export and Import Regulations Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, following clause 1 of the Currency Committee’s meeting minutes. It responds to an earlier request to allow crude oil import orders to be registered using currency obtained from exporters’ own export proceeds and those of other exporters, without a formal currency transfer, under clause 9 of Article 83 of the Executive Regulations on Export Rules.

The notice lists the following tariff codes and corresponding product descriptions as eligible for this arrangement:

• 15070900 — Refined crude soybean oil, including degummed
• 15111000 — Crude palm oil
• 15121100 — Crude sunflower seed or safflower oil
• 15141100 — Crude canola or rapeseed oil
• 15149100 — Other crude oil
• 15152000 — Crude corn oil

Customs clearance for these tariff lines will proceed on the basis of currency obtained from exporters’ own exports and from other exporters, without requiring a separate currency transfer procedure, in line with the applicable export regulations.
