Five Crops Removed from Water-Intensive Products List

Iran's Trade Development Organization has notified Iran Customs's Export Office that, per the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad's request and pursuant to Clause (P) of Article 38 of the Seventh Development Plan Law, five products -- dates, pistachios, figs, grapes and tea -- are removed from the list of water-intensive agricultural products.

Iran’s Trade Development Organization, through its Office of Export and Import Regulations, has notified the Director General of Iran Customs’s Export Office that, in furtherance of Clause (P) of Article 38 of the Seventh Development and Progress Plan Law and the executive bylaw for Item 2 of Clause (N) of Note 1 of the 1404 National Budget Law, five products — dates, pistachios, figs, grapes and tea — are removed from the list of water-intensive agricultural products, effective immediately.

The change follows a letter from the Minister of Agricultural Jihad (No. 020/622347 dated 1404/08/21), which itself followed up on an earlier communication (No. 020/247198 dated 1404/4/23) requesting that Iran Customs and other relevant authorities be instructed accordingly. The Trade Development Organization requested that the change be noted and communicated to executive customs houses.

The Ministry of Agricultural Jihad’s Center for Domestic Trade and Agricultural Product Market Regulation was also asked to send the Trade Development Organization the general list, together with tariff codes, of water-intensive products under Clause (P) of Article 38 of the Seventh Development Plan Law, for updating the Commercial Rules System established under Article 6 (bis) 1 of the Law on Combating Smuggling of Goods and Currency, and for observing Note to Article 4 of the Law on Export and Import Regulations in all similar cases going forward.
