The Export and Import Regulations Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran has notified Iran Customs of the specific eight-digit tariff codes for cement and clinker subject to the requirement to present a purchase approval certificate from the export ring of the Iran Mercantile Exchange before export. The notice follows earlier correspondence establishing the purchase-certificate requirement for cement and gray clinker exports and a communication from the Deputy for Mining Affairs and Mining Industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
The tariff codes subject to the requirement are: 2523.2100 (Portland cement, clinker cement), 2523.2900 (other), 2523.9010 (blast furnace cement), 2523.9020 (pozzolanic cement), and 2523.9090 (other). The notice specifically clarifies that white cement, falling under tariff code 2523.2100, is not subject to the requirement to be supplied through the Iran Mercantile Exchange.
Customs offices and exporters of cement and clinker under these tariff codes should apply the export ring purchase-approval requirement accordingly, noting the exclusion for white cement.
