Tariff Codes Under Department of Environment Oversight

The Department of Environment has forwarded, by deputy division, the tariff codes subject to its oversight for order registration, clearance, and export, for implementation in the Comprehensive Trade System and customs systems. The Department clarified it has no jurisdiction over tariff codes for domesticated animals.

The Department of Environment has responded to the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade regarding permits required from the Department in the order registration, clearance, and export process, forwarding the tariff codes associated with its Natural Environment and Biodiversity, Human Environment, and Marine Environment and Wetlands deputy divisions in separate attached files for implementation in the Comprehensive Trade System and customs systems.

The Export and Import Regulations Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran subsequently instructed the Center for Data, Information and Cyberspace Security Technology to apply the announced criteria for these tariff codes in the relevant trade processes (order registration, export, and clearance) within the Comprehensive Trade System.

The Department of Environment noted that it is the responsible authority for all matters concerning native and non-native wild animals, and that tariff codes relating to domesticated animals fall outside its jurisdiction. The notice also states that any proposed new tariff codes created by the Department, following consultation with the Iran Customs Tariff Office and review by the Article 1 Committee, will be applicable in the relevant systems and in the Import and Export Regulations book once approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
