Export of Edible Eggs Prohibited in Iran

The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade’s Office of Export and Import Regulations has notified Iran Customs that the export of edible eggs is prohibited.

The prohibition applies to edible eggs classified under tariff code 04072011 and reaffirms an earlier notice on the same subject. It follows a letter from the Minister of Agriculture Jihad citing emergency conditions, issued under Clause (A) of Article 27 of the Seventh Five-Year Development Plan Law of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The measure is intended to prevent the export of eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, and Mazafati dates during the emergency period, of which the egg export ban forms a part.

The circular notes that this export prohibition falls within the broader restriction on export of products listed in Chapters 1 to 24 of the Export and Import Regulations Book, subject to the exceptions announced separately and any subsequent correspondence on those exceptions. The restriction remains valid until further notice.

Customs offices and exporters dealing in edible eggs should treat exports of goods under tariff code 04072011 as prohibited and should not proceed with export declarations for this item pending any secondary notice lifting or amending the restriction.
