Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has instructed the Deputy for Customs Affairs at the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration to prevent the export of eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, and Mazafati dates.
The instruction refers to a letter from the Minister of Agriculture Jihad regarding emergency conditions in the relevant markets, citing paragraph (a) of Article 27 of the Law on the Seventh Five-Year Development Plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Based on that reference, the ministry has requested that Customs act to prevent the export of these four commodities until further notice.
The measure applies to all export shipments of eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, and Mazafati dates through Iranian Customs. The ban remains in effect until a subsequent notice reverses or modifies it; no expiration date has been specified.
Exporters and trading companies dealing in these commodities should treat export operations as suspended and monitor official communications from Customs and the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade for any update on the status of the restriction.
