Export Ban Lifted on Chemical, Polymer, and Petrochemical Products

Iran Customs has been instructed to lift the export ban on chemical, polymer, and petrochemical products after the legal validity period behind the earlier restriction expired without renewal.

Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, acting on behalf of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, has instructed the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration to lift the export ban previously imposed on chemical, polymer, and petrochemical products.

The original restriction was communicated through earlier circulars issued by the Export and Import Regulations Office, most recently through a notice dated March 30, 2026 and its subsequent amendments, citing item 15 of the Supreme Council of Economic Coordination’s resolution of April 1, 2026. That resolution authorized the restriction through June 30, 2026. With the legal deadline now passed and the underlying authority not renewed by the competent body, the basis for continuing the restriction has lapsed.

Based on this development, all previous circulars banning the export of chemical, polymer, and petrochemical products, along with any related follow-up notices, are hereby revoked. Customs has been instructed to allow the export of these products to proceed without obstruction, subject to compliance with the applicable rules and regulations, in line with the terms of a related notice (No. 6131868) dated October 30, 2025.

Businesses engaged in the export of chemical, polymer, and petrochemical products should note that the restriction previously communicated through the office’s circulars no longer applies, while continuing to comply with standard export registration and customs procedures.
