Export Ban Lifted on Sausage and Similar Meat Products

Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, through the Trade Development Organization’s Export and Import Regulations Office, has notified Iran Customs that the export of sausage and similar meat products is no longer prohibited.

The decision follows earlier correspondence on the list of export-prohibited items under Chapters 1 through 24 of the tariff schedule and their exceptions. It was informed by a request from the Iran Meat Processing Industries Trade Association, which asked the Ministry’s General Industries Deputy to lift the export prohibition on goods classified under tariff code 16010000, covering sausage and similar products made from meat, meat offal, and related ingredients. The association cited its members’ export contracts and the goal of preserving and developing export markets for domestic manufacturing units.

Based on this request, the export prohibition has been lifted for tariff code 16010000, subject to compliance with other applicable rules and regulations.

Exporters of sausage and similar meat products should confirm that their shipments fall under tariff code 16010000 and continue to comply with all other applicable export rules and standards, including any health and sanitary requirements administered by the Ministry’s Food, Drug, and Health Industries Office.
