The Bureau of Import and Export Regulations has instructed Iran Customs to stop exports of one-day-old broiler chicks and fertilized broiler-chick hatching eggs, after the two items were removed from the list of agricultural products exempt from the general export ban.
The directive follows correspondence from the Deputy for Trade Development at the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad. Under the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad’s own list of exemptions from the agricultural export ban, one-day-old broiler chicks (tariff code 0105.1150) and fertilized broiler-chick hatching eggs (tariff code 0407.0118) had previously been included among the products permitted for export. Under the current directive, and based on Clause (a) of Article 72 of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Seventh Five-Year Development Plan Law, both items have now been removed from the exemption list, and their export is to be prevented until further notice.
The ban applies to all export shipments regardless of the customs procedure under which they are declared. Goods and shipments that had already been declared within the customs area by January 17, 2026 (17 Bahman 1404 in the Iranian calendar) are not subject to the ban, consistent with earlier notices and exceptions on the broader agricultural export restriction issued under Article 11 (repeated) of the executive regulations of the Export and Import Regulations Law.
Poultry exporters and hatcheries should treat one-day-old broiler chicks and fertilized broiler-chick hatching eggs as excluded from export until the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade issues further notice reinstating their exempt status. Businesses with shipments already declared before the specified date should confirm their status with Iran Customs.
