The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has notified the Trade Promotion Organization’s Import and Export Regulations Office that obtaining a Goods ID (shenaseh-ye kala) is now mandatory at the time of import order registration for 16 specified tariff codes falling under the Office of Electrical, Electronic, Software and Creative Industries Equipment. The requirement was communicated in Letter No. 7311989, dated March 23, 2026 (1404/12/30), and is to be applied and mandatory in the system within one month of publication.
The requirement was set out under Letter No. 7280231 (dated February 18, 2026) from the Deputy for Trade Development’s Logistics and Business Services Office, based on the tariff list announced by the Office of Electrical, Electronic, Software and Creative Industries Equipment in its own Letter No. 7259586 (dated February 16, 2026). The listed tariff codes cover a range of electrical and electronic products, including engine over-temperature current cutoff devices for automotive applications, pH meters, heating or cooling appliances, carbon-film electrical resistors in specified sizes, automatic starters, display panels equipped with liquid crystal (LCD) or light-emitting diode (LED) indicators, vacuum interrupters (vacuum switch enclosures), levels, low-consumption tube-type lamps (“wire out”), and other related items, among others. Where all or part of a listed tariff code also requires a license from another organization or agency, the Goods ID requirement is to apply only after that organization declares its readiness.
The circular references the National Committee under Article 30 of the Law on Continuous Improvement of the Business Environment and the executive regulation on Goods ID and tracking codes (implemented under earlier Notice No. 717350, dated February 3, 2026). Under that framework, tariff codes newly subject to the Goods ID requirement become optional in the system for up to one month following publication, after which the requirement becomes mandatory. Application in the system is to proceed in accordance with the relevant regulations.
Importers and producers dealing in the affected tariff codes should ensure Goods ID registration is completed before submitting import order registrations for these product categories going forward.
