Import Duty Rate Changed for Livestock Feed, Basic Goods

Following Cabinet Resolution No. 172076/T65236H dated 1404/10/10 on the Food Security Guarantee and Livelihood Improvement Bylaw, Iran's Trade Development Organization has notified Iran Customs that, due to the reclassification of livestock feed inputs and basic goods (except wheat) from commodity priority group 21 to group 22, import duties for these goods will be calculated based on the average exchange-center gold and currency rate for Esfand 1403, per Clause (Zh) under Note 1 of the 1404 Budget Law.

Iran’s Trade Development Organization, through its Office of Export and Import Regulations, has notified Iran Customs’s Import Office of Cabinet Resolution No. 172076/T65236H dated 1404/10/10, concerning the Food Security Guarantee and Livelihood Improvement Bylaw. The resolution was communicated to Customs following an earlier letter (No. 6974626 dated 1404/10/17) forwarding the Cabinet’s approved text for awareness and necessary action.

Under the resolution, effective 1404/10/10, the reclassification of livestock feed inputs and basic goods (except wheat) from commodity priority group 21 to priority group 22 requires a change to the basis for calculating import duties on these goods. Per Clause (Zh) under Note 1 of the 1404 Budget Law, the applicable duty rate for goods in the reclassified group is now computed based on the average exchange-center (Nima) rate for gold and currency during Esfand month of 1403.

Importers of livestock feed inputs and other basic goods affected by this reclassification (excluding wheat) should apply the revised duty calculation basis when determining clearance costs, consistent with the Cabinet resolution’s effective date.
