2,000 Intercity Bus Import Resolution Citation Corrected

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved an amendment to its resolution authorizing the import of 2,000 intercity buses under five years old, intended to expand public passenger transport and provide improved services to Arbaeen pilgrims, correcting a cross-reference in the original text following a review by Parliament’s committee for examining government resolutions for conformity with law.

The original resolution (No. 78389/T64552H, dated August 12, 2025) authorized the import of 2,000 intercity buses with a service life of less than five years, for the purposes of developing public passenger transport, regulating the market, and providing optimal services to pilgrims and travelers during the Arbaeen Hosseini period. Parliament’s committee for reviewing government resolutions for conformity with law found that the resolution, as originally issued, was inconsistent with the law because it did not properly reference an earlier related resolution (No. 24297/T62567H, dated May 6, 2024) governing the intercity bus import authorization.

To resolve this issue, the Cabinet approved an amendment stating that, in the first line of the resolution, following the phrase “Resolution No. 24297/T62567H dated May 6, 2024,” the phrase “with subsequent amendments” is added. The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade’s Export and Import Regulations Office forwarded the amended resolution to Iran Customs for information and implementation.

This amendment is a technical correction to the citation within the underlying resolution and does not change the substantive terms of the 2,000-unit intercity bus import authorization, including the five-year age limit and the stated purposes of expanding public transport capacity and improving services for Arbaeen pilgrims.
