The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has added five tariff codes covering jute fabric, sacks, and bags used for packaging to the list of goods eligible for import under the sailor-allowance procedure, a simplified border-trade mechanism for permitted goods.
The notice, issued by the Export and Import Regulations Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, was sent to the Director General of the Import Office at Islamic Republic of Iran Customs, following a request from the General Directorate of Industry, Mine and Trade of Bushehr Province. The provincial office had cited damage from the imposed war and the province’s need for flour sacking material as the basis for the request.
The tariff codes added to the list of goods eligible for entry under the sailor-allowance procedure, covering fabric in row 26 of the list of permitted import items, are:
- 63050100
- 63050200
- 63050223
- 63050334
- 63050900
Customs authorities were instructed to record these additional tariff codes in the relevant systems and to communicate the update to the relevant executive customs offices. The Bushehr provincial office’s original request also referenced the need for flour bags specifically, citing regional supply requirements linked to war-related damage.
