Percentage Clearance Authorized for KD Vehicle and Motorcycle Parts

Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has authorized percentage clearance for a set of tariff codes covering knocked-down (KD) parts for passenger and commercial vehicles, as well as motorcycles and bicycles, along with related intermediate parts and raw materials.

The decision follows earlier correspondence on tariff increases affecting goods on the percentage clearance list, and was issued in support of the government’s production-growth and market-regulation policies. The Ministry’s Machinery and Equipment Industries Deputy noted that, in view of the prolonged currency allocation and supply process and given follow-up from vehicle, motorcycle, and bicycle manufacturers, tariff codes related to KD parts for all vehicle types (passenger and commercial), motorcycles, and bicycles under Chapter 89 of the Export and Import Regulations Book, along with the relevant intermediate parts and raw materials described in an attached file, should be placed on the percentage clearance procedure’s authorized tariff list. The Trade Promotion Organization’s Export and Import Regulations Office subsequently confirmed the addition and notified Iran Customs for implementation.

Under the decision, the listed tariff codes covering KD parts and related intermediate materials will be subject to percentage clearance, in compliance with other relevant rules and regulations, until the end of Aban month 1404 (corresponding to late November 2025).

Manufacturers and importers of KD parts for vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles should confirm that their tariff codes fall within the authorized list before relying on the percentage clearance procedure for customs release.
