Kiwi Export Ban Timing Changed for 1404

The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has notified Iran Customs that the annual kiwi export ban period has been adjusted, and that kiwi exports under tariff code 08105000 are permitted from the seventh of Mehr in the current year, subject to applicable regulations.

The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has notified the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration of a change to the annual timing of the kiwi export ban, permitting kiwi exports to resume from the seventh of Mehr in the current year.

Under the original circular (No. 178044/60, dated September 29, 2018), the kiwi export ban applied annually from the 15th of Tir through the 15th of Mehr. Following a request from the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad’s Deputy for Horticultural Affairs, and after a meeting held with representatives of the Gilan and Mazandaran provincial agricultural jihad organizations to review current-year conditions and the proposals raised by those provinces, the Ministry’s Deputy for Trade Development determined that there was no impediment to permitting kiwi exports from the seventh of Mehr in the current year.

The Ministry of Agricultural Jihad forwarded this determination, together with supporting correspondence, to the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran’s Export and Import Regulations Office, which in turn notified Iran Customs that kiwi exports under tariff code 08105000 are permitted from the seventh of Mehr in the current year, subject to compliance with applicable regulations.

Exporters of kiwi should note that, unlike in prior years when the export ban ran through the 15th of Mehr, exports are permitted earlier this year starting from the seventh of Mehr, provided all other applicable export regulations and requirements are observed.
