Cross-Border Porter and Petty Trading Quota Deadline Extended

Iran's Trade Promotion Organization has extended the deadline for using quotas delegated to kolbars (cross-border porters), pileh-vars (petty traders), and border residents during the Iranian months of Azar, Dey, and Bahman, and set a separate deadline for the Esfand quota.

Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, through its Import and Export Regulations Office, has notified the Tar company system operator of an extension to the deadline for using quotas that had been delegated to cross-border porters (kolbars), petty traders (pileh-vars), and border residents.

The notification follows an earlier letter from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade’s provincial office in West Azerbaijan Province and a subsequent directive from the organization’s Deputy for Planning and Regulations, addressing statistical registrations recorded for kolbari, pileh-vari, and border-resident trade.

Under the extension, statistical registrations that were delegated to a porter but remained unused, or that were freed up due to cancellation of the registration, during the Iranian months of Azar, Dey, and Bahman (corresponding to the periods spanning late November 2025 through mid-February 2026) may now be used for statistical registration until the end of Farvardin 1405 (mid-April 2026). Separately, the quota delegated for the month of Esfand may be used for statistical registration until the end of Ordibehesht 1405 (late May 2026).

The Trade Promotion Organization also noted that the related matter of the process for pileh-vari and border-resident cooperative companies would be raised and communicated at a forthcoming meeting of the working group established under Article 12 of the Law on Organizing Border Trade.
