Own and Other-Exporters Currency Options for Vehicle Tariff Codes

Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has activated the order registration options for funding vehicle imports from the importer's own export currency and from other exporters' currency for eight-digit tariff codes under headings 8701, 8702, 8704, and 8705.

Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has activated, within the Comprehensive Trade System, the order registration funding options “from own export currency” and “from other exporters’ currency” for the eight-digit tariff codes falling under headings 8701 (tractors), 8702 (vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons), 8704 (motor vehicles for the transport of goods), and 8705 (special-purpose motor vehicles).

The measure allows importers registering orders under the covered tariff codes to draw on foreign currency generated from their own export proceeds, or on export currency entrusted by other exporters, as a source of funding for vehicle import order registration, in addition to any other funding sources previously available for these tariff codes.

Importers and customs brokers dealing with vehicle imports under tariff headings 8701, 8702, 8704, and 8705 should verify the availability of these currency-sourcing options for the specific eight-digit code applicable to their shipment when registering orders in the Comprehensive Trade System.
