The Export and Import Regulations Office of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, under the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, has issued an updated circular clarifying which petrochemical tariff codes remain eligible for export during the current emergency-period restrictions on petrochemical exports.

The circular follows two earlier notices, dated March 23, 2026 and May 10, 2026, that were issued under a directive from the National Economy Resilience and Non-Military Defense in Emergency Conditions package. Under that broader framework, the export of petrochemical products is generally restricted, with exceptions made for surplus goods produced by specific companies once those companies, or their officially recognized representatives, are confirmed by the National Petrochemical Company and the Export and Import Regulations Office.

This latest notice replaces the tariff list attached to the May 10, 2026 letter with an updated and corrected list of petrochemical tariff codes approved for export solely through the producing company or its official representative. Customs offices are instructed to apply the revised list going forward, ensuring that only the listed companies and their authorized representatives may clear exports under the approved tariff codes.

Businesses in the petrochemical sector should confirm their tariff codes and company details against the updated list before attempting to export, and should monitor further updates from the Trade Promotion Organization, as the scope of permitted exports may continue to be revised while the emergency-period restrictions remain in effect.
