Iran’s Trade Development Organization has notified relevant offices that goods classified under tariff code 84229090, when declared with an animal (livestock) end use, are not required to obtain a Product ID (Shenaseh Kala) at the time of order registration.

The exemption follows a request from the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, communicated through the ministry’s Trade Regulation Drafting Office, citing the absence of the technical infrastructure needed for production centers of genetic materials to obtain a Product ID for the equipment and tools they require. The request noted that inactivating the Product ID requirement for the tariff code is necessary so that the order registration process and the import of essential items related to genetic material production are not delayed. The notice directs that the requirement be removed from the tariff code when declared with an “animal” use type, and that this be applied in the Comprehensive Trade System.

Importers of equipment under tariff code 84229090 intended for animal or livestock applications should declare the correct end use in the Comprehensive Trade System to benefit from the exemption from the Product ID requirement at order registration.
