Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has notified relevant offices that obtaining a Product ID (Shenaseh Kala) is now required at the time of order registration for 111 tariff codes under the ministry’s Chemical and Polymer Industries Office.

The requirement follows the National Assembly’s Article 90 Commission emphasis on the importance of pursuing measures taken by specialized offices regarding the Product ID requirement, and was coordinated through correspondence between the Chemical and Polymer Industries Office and the Import and Export Regulations Office. The notice specifies that for tariff lines within the list that are also subject to licensing by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, the Product ID requirement will not be enforced for those items until further notice, pending establishment of a web-service connection between the relevant systems.

Importers and customs brokers dealing in goods under the affected tariff codes should confirm current Product ID requirements for their specific tariff line, given the exception carved out for items also requiring Health or Agriculture Jihad licensing.
