The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, through the Trade Promotion Organization’s Export and Import Regulations Office, has notified Iran Customs that obtaining a product identification code (“shenaseh kala”) is now mandatory at the time of import order registration for 39 tariff codes associated with aerospace and airport industries.
The requirement follows correspondence from the Automotive Industries, Motive Power and Transportation Office, based on resolutions of a session held on September 17, 2025, communicated via correspondence dated September 24, 2025, from the Deputy Minister for Trade Affairs, requesting arrangements to make order registration conditional on obtaining a product ID for the announced tariff codes.
The 39 affected tariff codes cover a broad range of aircraft, aircraft engines, aircraft parts, and unmanned aerial vehicles, including: 8407.1010 (piston engines for unmanned aerial vehicles) and 8407.1090 (other aircraft engines, including turbofan, turboshaft, turbojet, and turboprop engines); 8409.1000 (parts for aircraft engines, including cylinders, pistons, sensors, cartridges, pumps, diffusers, couplings, shrouds, brackets, actuators, fans, springs, heat sinks, vanes, disks, chambers, rings, masts, blades, combustion chambers, and nozzles); 8801.0010 (balloons and airships) and 8801.0090 (other aircraft, including paramotors and gliders); 8802.1100 and 8802.1200 (helicopters, by unladen weight); 8802.2000 and 8802.3000 (training, agricultural, mapping, meteorological, and reconnaissance aircraft, by unladen weight); 8802.4000 (firefighting, cargo, and passenger aircraft over 15,000 kg unladen weight); 8804.0000 (parachutes, including steerable parachutes and paragliders, and rotochutes, and their parts and accessories); 8806.2210, 8806.2230, 8806.2240, and 8806.2250 (unmanned aerial spraying, mapping/photogrammetry, and fertilizing/seeding equipment); the corresponding 8806.23 and 8806.24 series covering the same drone applications; 8806.9100 through 8806.9400 (unmanned aerial vehicles by maximum takeoff weight bracket); and 8807.1010 (parts related to civilian unmanned aerial vehicles, including multirotor components and vanes).
Consistent with articles 24 and 30 of the executive bylaws of the Law on Continuous Improvement of the Business Environment, the requirement becomes mandatory in the Comprehensive Trade System following the notification, and importers and producers were to be informed accordingly.
Importers of aircraft, aircraft engines, aircraft parts, and unmanned aerial vehicles under these tariff codes should obtain the required product identification code before registering import orders, and should monitor the Comprehensive Trade System for confirmation of implementation.
