The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, through the Export and Import Regulations Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, has notified Iran Customs and the Comprehensive Trade System of a requirement that importers obtain a product identifier (Shenaseh Kala) at the time of order registration for tariff codes falling under the Office of Home Appliances, Office and Administrative Equipment, and Stationery Industries.

The requirement follows earlier correspondence from the Office of Logistics and Trade Services, which had forwarded lists of tariff codes designated by the Office of Home Appliances, Office and Administrative Equipment, and Stationery Industries for mandatory product identification at order registration. In light of the importance of following up on measures taken by specialized offices to require product identifiers, and in accordance with the emphasis of the Article 90 Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Comprehensive Trade System was instructed to make order registration for the affected tariff codes conditional on the goods carrying a valid product identifier.

Importers and manufacturers were notified to arrange the required system settings accordingly. The measure is intended to be implemented and reflected within the Comprehensive Trade System so that order registration for the listed tariff codes cannot proceed without the corresponding product identifier.

Businesses importing goods under the affected tariff codes for home appliances, office and administrative equipment, and stationery should ensure their products carry a valid product identifier before initiating order registration, and should coordinate with the relevant specialized office for any items not yet linked to a product identifier in the system.
