The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has made it mandatory to obtain a product identifier (Shenaseh Kala) at the time of order registration for 58 tariff codes falling under the Mining Industries Bureau, following resolutions of the National Working Group under Article 11 (repeated) of the executive regulations on product identifiers and tracking codes.

The Bureau of Import and Export Regulations notified Iran Customs that, in line with the working group’s decisions, the tariff codes announced by the Mining Industries Bureau are now added to the list of codes requiring a product identifier before an import order can be registered in the Comprehensive Trade System. The affected tariff codes cover a range of mineral, glass, ceramic, metal, and abrasive products used in industrial applications, including items such as sharpening and polishing stones, stainless steel welded fittings, glass fiber mats and fabrics, refractory concrete, sanding belts, grinding wheel components, and related mining-industry inputs.

The requirement takes effect on a phased basis: for one month following publication and application in the system, importers and producers may register orders for the listed tariff codes using the product identifier on a voluntary basis. After that one-month grace period ends, obtaining the product identifier becomes mandatory and the system will enforce it automatically for these tariff codes.

Importers, producers, and customs brokers dealing in the affected tariff codes should register for a product identifier through the relevant system before the mandatory enforcement date to avoid disruption to order registration. The Ministry has instructed that importers and producers be informed of this change so they can take the necessary steps within the one-month window.
