Product ID Required for Order Registration of Rail Industry Tariff Codes

Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has made it mandatory to obtain a product identifier, known as Shenase Kala, at the time of order registration for seven tariff codes associated with the rail industry. The requirement was issued by the Trade Promotion Organization’s Export and Import Regulations Office at the request of the Ministry’s Office of Automotive, Motive Power, and Transportation Industries.

The seven affected tariff codes are 86050000, 86061000, 86063010, 86069090, 86069100, 86069200, and 86069900, all relating to railway and tramway rolling stock and parts. The requirement follows earlier correspondence from the Office of Logistics and Commercial Services, which noted the importance of pursuing product identifier requirements for these codes in line with Article 90 Commission emphasis of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament), and requested that order registration for goods under these codes be conditioned on obtaining a product identifier for items reported by the Office of Automotive, Motive Power, and Transportation Industries.

Per the notice, the requirement was also communicated with reference to a related approval (No. 13400/M, dated July 12, 2025) and was scheduled to become mandatory and enforceable for users in the Comprehensive Trade System as of a specified date. Importers and manufacturers dealing in railway rolling stock components under the listed tariff codes should ensure they have obtained the applicable product identifier before registering import orders, and should verify the requirement’s status directly in the Comprehensive Trade System.
