Rice Clearance Harvest-Season Ban Lifted for 1404

Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization has notified Iran Customs of a Cabinet resolution lifting the seasonal ban on rice clearance during the harvest period for the Iranian year 1404.

Under the note to Cabinet Resolution No. 65016/t64342h, dated July 2, 2025, the Cabinet, acting under Article 138 of the Constitution and on a proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, revoked the provision requiring the ban on rice clearance during the harvest season (from the start of Mordad through the end of Aban each year) for the year 1404, as set out under Clause (8) of the notes to Chapter 10 of Part Two of the Export and Import Regulations Book (originally established under Cabinet Resolution No. 22575/t46h). The revocation applies to rice under tariff codes 10062000, 10063010, 10063020, and 10064000, for the harvest season running from the start of Mordad through the end of Aban 1404 (corresponding to late July through late November 2025).

Iran Customs was instructed to record the change and communicate it to executive customs offices for implementation and any necessary action.

Importers of rice under the affected tariff codes should note that clearance is permitted during the specified harvest-season window for 1404, in contrast to the standard seasonal restriction that would otherwise apply, and should confirm current requirements with Iran Customs before proceeding.
