Solar Panel Raw Material Tariffs Added to Clearance List

The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has added a set of tariff codes covering raw materials needed for solar panel production lines to the percentage clearance list, limited specifically to manufacturing units that hold a solar power plant construction license, valid through the end of Aban 1404.

The addition followed a request from Mana Anargy Pak Company, a producer of solar panels, for 90 percent clearance of the raw material tariffs required by its production line, as detailed in a table forwarded by the Ministry’s Deputy for Machinery and Equipment Industries. Citing the need to facilitate the customs process and support domestic producers, the Export and Import Regulations Office instructed the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration to apply percentage clearance to the listed tariff codes, subject to compliance with applicable rules and regulations and limited to producers holding a solar power plant construction license.

The tariff codes covered include those for EVA film, inverters used in solar power plants (below 5,804,046 kilowatts), solar panel glass, solar cells, junction boxes, adhesive tape, silicone sealant, and backsheet material. The notice also states that tariff codes 38191010 and 38180000 had previously been announced to customs for general percentage clearance eligibility.
