The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, through the Trade Promotion Organization’s Export and Import Regulations Office, has notified Iran Customs of a clarification regarding percentage clearance eligibility for a group of tariff codes, issued in response to a request from Arman Zoofa Company.
Under the changes to the 1404 tariff book, former tariff code 2936.2800 was split into three replacement codes: 2936.2810, 2936.2820, and 2936.2890. Because tariff code 2936.2800 had previously been included on the Ministry’s percentage clearance list, the Trade Promotion Organization confirmed that the replacement codes 2936.2810, 2936.2820, and 2936.2890 will likewise be subject to percentage clearance, in compliance with applicable rules and regulations, until the validity period of the competent authority’s approval for percentage clearance expires.
Importers using tariff codes 2936.2810, 2936.2820, or 2936.2890 should confirm their eligibility for percentage clearance treatment under the terms of the underlying approval and comply with all applicable percentage clearance rules and regulations.
