Tariff Codes Added for Border Cooperative Imports

Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has added three tariff codes to the list of goods that border cooperative companies are authorized to import under the border trade cooperative arrangement.

The addition was issued through the Trade Development Organization of Iran’s Office of Export and Import Regulations, in response to a request from the Union of Border Cooperative Companies of Khorasan Razavi Province and a related notice from the General Directorate of Industry, Mine and Trade of Golestan Province. Both raised the matter of goods requested by border residents and their cooperative companies that were not yet reflected in the official list of items permitted for import through this channel.

Under the update, the following tariff codes have been added to the list of goods eligible for import by border residents and their cooperative companies:

• 52091200 — Twill-weave fabric made with three or four threads, including herringbone twill weave
• 84253120 — Gearless drive systems for elevators, including electric motors, pulleys, and permanent-magnet brake systems
• 07131030 — Ordinary chickpeas

Customs offices responsible for the relevant border points have been instructed to apply these additions, and the tariff codes will also be reflected in the related electronic systems used for import registration.
