Tariff Codes Added to Percentage Clearance List

The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has instructed Iran Customs to add tariff codes 54024600 and 54024700 to the percentage clearance list.

The percentage clearance list, also referred to by the code 01/09, covers raw materials needed for domestic production that customs may clear on a percentage basis to help maintain the flow of production inputs into the country. The addition follows a request from a company applying to have the tariff codes for its raw materials included on the list, and is issued in line with earlier correspondence from the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran on expanding the percentage clearance list during the current crisis conditions.

Under the notice, goods declared under tariff codes 54024600 and 54024700 will be eligible for percentage clearance, provided the applicable rules and regulations governing percentage clearance are observed, for as long as the relevant authority’s approval of this addition remains valid.

Importers and customs brokers handling goods under these tariff codes should apply the percentage clearance procedure in accordance with existing percentage clearance rules and monitor for any further updates to the list or its validity period.
