Tea Export Approved as Conditionally Permitted

The Export and Import Regulations Office of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, under the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, has announced that the export of tea under three specified tariff codes is approved on a conditionally permitted basis.

The decision follows correspondence from the Deputy for Trade Development of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, which noted the need to manage the export of grade-2 tea, as well as tea waste and tea dust, in coordination with Iran’s tea organization and the Tea Research Center. Based on that correspondence, the export of tea under the following tariff codes is now unimpeded when handled as conditionally permitted, and these codes are not subject to the export restriction referenced in an earlier notice dated March 3, 2026:

• Tariff code 09032010: Tea bags
• Tariff code 09032090: Other black tea
• Tariff code 09032400: Fermented black tea

Under the arrangement, export of shipments under these tariff codes is to proceed only after systemic confirmation within the customs affairs system by a designated official at the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, whose confirmation authority was reactivated for this purpose. Exporters of tea under the listed tariff codes should ensure their shipments receive the required systemic confirmation before proceeding with customs clearance.
