No. 7386246

Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization has temporarily reduced the foreign exchange repatriation rate applied to trade card issuance and export processes, citing emergency conditions affecting coordination across the country.

The change follows an earlier circular (No. 7249097, dated March 1, 2026) that had set the applicable repatriation rate for commercial transactions. Under the new instruction, coordinated with the General Inspection Organization of the country, the required rate of foreign exchange repatriation applied to trade processes is temporarily set at 60 percent.

This reduced rate applies until the end of the Iranian month of Farvardin 1405 (April 20, 2026). After that date, the terms of the original circular referenced above are set to resume and once again serve as the operative standard for FX repatriation obligations.

Exporters and trade card holders should apply the 60 percent repatriation rate to their current transactions and prepare for the reinstatement of the previous, higher threshold once the temporary period ends. Businesses are advised to monitor further notices from the Trade Promotion Organization regarding any extension or modification of this arrangement.
