Iranian honey export and import situation

Sales of fake honey with foreign brand
According to the reporter of industry, trade and agriculture, the economic group of the young journalists club,

Iranian market is one of the markets producing and growing honey, and despite the many capacities that exist for the development of beekeeping in the Iranian market due to some problems, it has not been able to achieve a desirable position in exports, which continues the process and the officials' neglect of the beekeeping industry, has led to the destruction of the agricultural sector, since pollination is the most important role of beetle in nature. From time to time, there are reports of unpleasant news about smuggling of various goods. Smugglers have come to honey and queen bees, smuggling can be a serious threat to the Iranian beekeeping industry. Export honey to Iranian market has high rate which between high quality brands; unfortunately, there are fake brands that have active marketing in Iranian market.
Considering that Iranian honey has the unique properties of medicinal plants that can be supported by domestic production, it can be said in the markets of target, but some profitable people have considered the decline in honey harvest in recent years due to the lack of queen bees for import, And selling it at an enormous price can make the most of the profitable water from the mud, while the responsible authorities should be sensitive to the import of the queen bee in different ways such as suitcase, quality, etc., because illegal imports It can be the basis for Apiaries and even the risk of bioterrorism diseases of unknown cause.
Of course, the case does not end here, because in some stores we see the distribution of foreign honey, each of which has different reasons for this, but what is important is that according to the legal system of exploitation, the import of honey and products is not forbidden by the authorities because of the excess production. Therefore, officials are expected to oversee the affairs. Based on this, we went to the custodial authorities and we arranged a dialogue with them, which you read later.

Speaking with the correspondent of the Young Women's Journalists Group, Efat Reisi Sarhadi, director of the Iranian Beekeepers Association, said that last year, 88,000 tons of honey was produced in the Iranian market, saying: "Last year, according to the training that beekeepers saw in the production of gelroveal, pollen Flower and bee venom have done a good job because, given the use of honey, we should look at other side products other than honey production.
He announced the per capita consumption of honey in Iranian market by one kilogram and 70 grams, adding: "Considering the population of 80 million people and producing 88 thousand tons of honey and not using this food for children under the age of 2 years, with an additional 20 thousand tons of honey in the Iranian market we have to plan it for export honey from Iranian market.
Redress, criticizing the decline in honey export last year, said that although in the years to come, despite a decline in production, 7,000 tons of honey were exported to target markets in the recent years, but in recent years due to the removal of mandatory standards and converting it to the stimulus standard, we faced a drop in honey exports from Iranian market, as European countries, the Gulf region and Turkey are not willing to buy Iranian market's honey producing incentive standards.
The responsible official, referring to the necessity of mandatory honey standards, said that related devices such as the Veterinary Organization, Standards and Food Controls, which are part of their health, should be responsive to these issues, while these devices are about Honey has abandoned its duties, which is why we sometimes see the return of honey deliveries from target markets.
The director of the Iranian beekeepers union said: "The honey promotion standard not only does not help exports, but it also leads to the lack of control in exporting many of the target markets to refuse to purchase this valuable Iranian markets foodstuff, which has many medicinal properties," While the related devices in the event of a lack of produced honey are penalized by the offenders, this poses a serious threat to the beekeeping industry of Iranian market.
According to Rayesie Barkhadi, according to the honey promotion standard and lack of adequate oversight on the distribution of this product, many domestic and foreign consumers do not compete with the use of Iranian market’s honey, and foreign consumers prefer that honey is needed from the countries of origin, which is at least controlled and They have to monitor their product.
He stated that, despite the tax on honey imports, we are witnessing the distribution of foreign honey in some stores and shops, adding that some consumers are only looking for foreign production in Iranian market, while Iran's honey is considered to be the world's highest quality honey.
Governments should use the capacity of unions and associations to control production, adding: Trademarks should see the trade unions at their side, because the distance between guilds and producers is in the right of consumers, which only benefits some people from this current situation.
He criticized the lack of attention to the beekeeping industry due to beekeeping marketing in Iran, saying: "Due to drought, rainfall reduction, etc. this year is not a good year for beekeeping," therefore, we have repeatedly warned government officials to seriously pursue this issue, with the continuation of this process, many job opportunities in this sector will be eliminated and Iranian market needs to have much more honey export to Iran.
